Border crossing rules updated: Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service introduces new conditions effective July 17
As of July 17, Ukrainian men aged 18 to 60 face new conditions when crossing the border, including the mandatory presentation of a military registration document.
Andrii Demchenko, Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, announced this change at a briefing held at the Media Center Ukraine.
“Starting from midnight on July 17, the requirement for a military registration document applies to all male Ukrainian citizens aged 18 to 60, with no exceptions stipulated by law,” Demchenko stated.
He clarified that nearly all categories of men, whether they are eligible for deferral or crossing the border for transporting goods, must carry this document.
“This document can be provided either as a physical copy or a digital version. An electronic military registration document is generated via the Reserve+ mobile application, creating a QR code that border guards can scan to obtain all necessary information about the individual,” Demchenko explained.
Additionally, he emphasized that men who are entitled to cross the border due to deferral or exclusion from military registration must have this status recorded in their military registration documents. These provisions are outlined under certain paragraphs of Article 23 of the Law on Mobilization Training and Mobilization.
