Beijing has no leverage over putin, but russia remains China’s technological vassal – Vadym Denysenko

If russia sabotages negotiations with the U.S., putin takes a step towards becoming not just a technological vassal of China, but a political one as well.

Vadym Denysenko, head of the Dilova Stolytsia analytical center, expressed this opinion during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“Without investing anything in russia, Beijing buys 50% of russian oil exports, 50% of its timber, and 50% of its gold. Therefore, China wants any Ukraine peace deal brokered under its influence, not just between the U.S. and russia. However, the idea that Beijing can pressure putin is a fallacy,” Denysenko stressed.
