At least 631 children have been killed as a result of enemy strikes on Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion, says human rights advocate
Since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, at least 631 child deaths and approximately 2,000 child injuries of varying severity resulting from enemy attacks have been documented.
Oleksandra Dvoretska, a human rights activist and head of policy at the Bring Kids Back UA Initiative, shared this information during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“As of today, we can confirm 631 documented cases of child fatalities – and these are only the cases where Ukrainian law enforcement agencies could verify the facts. However, we still lack access to temporarily occupied territories, where the true scale of the tragedy remains unknown. For instance, we cannot fully account for the number of children killed in Mariupol or other occupied cities,” she stated.
According to Dvoretska, nearly 2,000 children have been wounded.
“Another 1,975 children have suffered injuries of varying severity. These include children who lost limbs and those whose lives have been permanently altered due to russian missiles, shrapnel attacks, or explosive remnants,” Dvoretska added.
