At least 50 lawmakers from Ukraine’s Ninth Parliament face criminal allegations over five years: Research findings
In the last five years, over 50 Members of Ukraine’s Ninth Parliament have faced allegations of criminal offenses, including crimes against national security and corruption.
These findings were presented by Sofiia Lazarova, an analyst at the CHESNO Movement, during a research briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“This session has marked a unique milestone in our parliamentary history,” Lazarova stated. “It became the first to abolish the constitutional provision on parliamentary immunity, which significantly simplified the process of holding MPs criminally accountable. Over the past five years, at least 50 MPs from Ninth Parliament have been implicated in various criminal offenses. Among these, 13 were related to national security, while 33 involved corruption-related charges under the Criminal Code.”
