Anti-corruption agencies set record with over 50 convictions in six months – SAPO
Ukraine’s anti-corruption infrastructure is making steady but significant progress in improving anti-corruption legislation and securing convictions against corrupt officials. This was announced by Oleksandr Klymenko, Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“In the first half of this year, courts handed down 54 guilty verdicts in corruption cases – a record number since the establishment of anti-corruption agencies. Additionally, we filed 24 lawsuits for the recovery of unjustified assets. We are actively developing this legal mechanism,” Klymenko emphasized.
