Key topics:

– Expo 2025: Why is Ukraine’s participation important on a global scale?
– The concept of the Ukrainian pavilion: a “store of values” and an immersive experience;
– Behind the scenes: challenges in preparation, logistics and first impressions;
– The role and support of international partners in the creation of the pavilion;
– Future prospects: Ukraine’s National Day at Expo and long-term plans.

Background: From April 13 to October 13, 2025, Ukraine participates in the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan – one of the most prestigious exhibitions in the world, with more than 160 countries and 28 million visitors expected. This year’s theme is “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”.

Ukraine’s pavilion, titled “Not For Sale,” is designed as a store where nothing can be bought. Instead of goods, it features 18 symbolic objects, each representing a core human value – freedom, dignity, resilience, etc. Visitors can use scanners in the pavilion to scan the barcodes on these objects, revealing video stories from Ukraine that metaphorically represent the price we are paying for rights such as education, freedom of choice, access to medical care, and more.
