Andy Hunder: Ukraine successfully shielded its banking system during the war

Andy Hunder, President at American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, is convinced that Ukraine’s experience in operating businesses during the war is invaluable. He made this statement in a comment during the Kyiv Security Forum, which focused on the country’s energy sector and economic outlook for 2026.

“91% of all members of the American Chamber of Commerce, even despite the shelling, continue to work and invest in Ukraine. Business continues to operate. The key is to be prepared. For instance, before the first russian missile flew toward Kyiv in 2022, there was first an attack on the banking system. Today, we see that Ukraine managed to protect the banking system by migrating it to the ‘cloud’. Banking systems are working uninterrupted. This includes payment systems and cloud technologies. This is very important,” he emphasized.
