Almost 40,000 school and university students from other regions begin to study in Lviv region since start of war — Lviv Oblast Military Administration
Around 40,000 school and university students have come to Lviv region since the beginning of russia’s full scale invasion, Director of Education and Science Department of Lviv Oblast Military Administration, Oleh Paska said at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine. According to him, 25,000 refugee children go to schools, 3,500 students attend vocational education establishments, and the same number of students study at vocational pre-tertiary education institutions. In addition, over 6,000 obtain higher education.
According to Paska, the majority of schools and higher education establishments in Lviv region continue working remotely due to security reasons. Another reason is that internally displaced persons are currently living in the premises of the educational establishments. According to the Oblast Administration, their numbers reach at least 23,000 people.
