Almost 290 million hryvnias (approx 7 million euro) are allocated in the budget of Odesa region for compensation for the purchase of housing for war veterans
The funds are intended for persons with 1-2 group disabilities as a result of the war, from among the ATO/JFO participants and family members of the victims. This was stated by Tetyana Dementieva, director of the department of social and family policy of the Odesa regional military administration, at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.
“As of April 1, 2023, 118 families of these categories are registered in the regional register of persons who have been granted financial compensation for the purchase of housing in the total amount of UAH 289790 million. In 2023, the state budget allocates UAH 1 billion 734 million to finance this program,” – Dementieva said.
She also said that almost UAH 100 million in cash compensation will be allocated for the purchase of housing for people who took part in hostilities in other countries and their families.
For 2023, the state budget provides almost UAH 500 million to finance this program.
According to the official, at the beginning of the year, 41158 war veterans were registered in Odesa region.
“The unified state automated register of persons entitled to benefits contains, 41158 war veterans and persons covered by the Law of Ukraine “On the Status of War Veterans and Guarantees of Their Social Protection”. This includes 5,732 people with war-related disabilities. This category includes 665 veterans of the ATO/JFO and the Russian-Ukrainian war. There are 24765 combatants, 4118 war veterans, 6528 family members of a deceased (deceased) war veteran, or 791 families,” – the official said.
