Alina Frolova on Invictus Games: The mission is to show the way to others
The Ukrainian national team at the Invictus Games is growing every year. Thus, this year Ukraine was represented by 25 participants at the competitions in Dusseldorf, and next year there will be 30. One of the main missions for the participants of the Games is to show the way for others.
Alina Frolova, founder of the Center for Strategic Communications “StratCom Ukraine,” one of the organizers of the tryouts and training for the Ukrainian national team at the Invictus Games, made this statement during an event at the country’s main discussion platform BrainHub at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“Our quota is constantly being increased, because, of course, everyone understands that Ukraine is in such a state that we have a lot of people who suffer from the war – military personnel, people who take part in hostilities. But it is not even about these 30, these 30 show the way. And what Prince Harry emphasizes, as the founder of the Games, he says that after these Games you have a mission – you have to show the way to others. And this is the mission in question. Because we have 25 players, we’ve had over 200 people in tryouts, and we need millions to pay attention to it. Millions of combatants that we have now,” she emphasized.
In addition, Alina Frolova pointed out that it is important to pay attention to the families, children and friends of those who participated in the hostilities.
“Because a part of the Invictus family and a part of these competitions is a support group called Friends and Family, meaning it’s made up of friends, it’s made up of a family circle. Because families and friends suffer too. If a person comes home injured, if a person comes home in a bad psychological state, they are the first to take upon themselves their (the injured soldiers’ – Ed.) need for help, they don’t know how to do it, they learn in this situation,” she explained.
Alina Frolova also noted that the importance of the therapeutic process of the Invictus Games becomes clear in observing the transformation of all the participants.
