65% of russians want the war to end with the current frontline as the border and Ukraine’s refusal to join NATO – Dilova Stolytsia
The core principle of American diplomacy is that balancing major power systems takes priority over resolving individual conflicts. Any predictions about future U.S.-russia negotiations should be based on consideration of this stance.
Vadym Denysenko, head of the Dilova Stolytsia analytical center, shared this analysis during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
Denysenko argues that public sentiment in russia and Ukraine will shape future negotiations.
“According to Dilova Stolytsia’s research, 65% of russians see victory in the war as freezing the borders at the current frontline and Ukraine abandoning its NATO aspirations. 25% hardline ultranationalists in russia seek Ukraine’s complete destruction. putin relies on this patriotic minority. The russian president is very dependent on their opinion. If the war ended tomorrow, these 25% would become a silent ‘kitchen-table opposition’ against putin. This is the Kremlin’s greatest fear in stopping the war,” said Denysenko.
