500 forest fires reported in first half of 2024 – SES

Since the beginning of 2024, Ukraine has experienced 500 forest fires, affecting a total area of 22,000 hectares. 

This information was disclosed by Svitlana Vodolaha, Head of the Press Service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“As of today, there have been 500 forest fires, covering over 22,000 hectares,” Vodolaha stated.

It’s worth noting that, according to the SES, there have been 22,000 fires in the country’s ecosystems during the first six months of 2024.
