42 banks make profit of almost UAH 24 billion since start of russia’s full-scale invasion, banking system remains stable — Independent Association of Banks of Ukraine

This year 42 Ukrainian banks have made a profit of almost UAH 24 billion, while 26 institutions have lost UAH 16 billion. In general, after the beginning of the russian invasion, 38% of Ukrainian banks became unprofitable. Olena Korobkova, Chair of the Board of the Independent Association of the Banks of Ukraine made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.

“The state of the banking industry after 8 months of war is stable, the banking system is working. We do not see any reasons that could shake the stability of banks,” — Olena Korobkova said.

Also, according to her, the banking system of Ukraine is currently trying to help clients as much as possible.

“Our clients found themselves in a rather poor condition. Only 30% of businesses have fully resumed functioning. Therefore, it is clear that banks need to support clients, help them every day. And bring our victory closer,” — the Chair of the Board of the Independent Association of the Banks of Ukraine noted.
