38,000 Ukrainians listed in Unified Register of Missing Persons – Maria Mezentseva
The Unified Register of Missing Persons, which currently lists 38,000 people, contains information on children, civilian adults, and prisoners of war.
Maria Mezentseva, Head of the Permanent Delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, made this statement during a discussion at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“The entire PACE delegation consisting of 24 parliamentarians representing all factions and groups, the government, our cooperation with the coordination headquarters, Military Intelligence branches in various regions, including Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, Kyiv and Lviv –we plan to open more regional centers for relatives to understand what the Unified Register of Missing Persons is, which by the way already includes 38,000 people,” said Maria Mezentseva.
According to Mezentseva, the database lists “children, civilian adults, and prisoners of war.”
