130,000 IDPs have been received in Zaporizhia region since the beginning of a full-scale invasion
Chair of Zaporizhia Oblast Council Olena Zhuk said during a briefing at Ukraine Media Center that 130,000 people, including 35,000 children, came to Zaporizhia oblast since the beginning of the russian invasion. Most IDPs, and, in particular those from Mariupol, stay in the region for a few days before going further to other oblasts.
«People are very scared, especially people from Mariupol. They arrive in smashed cars, with frightened children. Children are often injured and need urgent care. There were even several cases when we rescued minors with severed limbs,» – Olena Zhuk said.
According to her, all IDPs receive medical care, food and medicine. In total, the oblast is ready to receive another 200,000 people.
