10-12% of Ukrainian students abroad take NMT to enter Ukrainian universities, Ministry says
Since 2022, Ukrainian students have been able to take the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT) abroad, a practice that has steadily grown in popularity. Speaking at Media Center Ukraine, Oleh Sharov, Director General of the Directorate of Higher and Adult Education at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, approximately 10 to 12% of NMT participants each year sit for the exam outside the country.
“Taking the NMT abroad without the intention to enroll in a Ukrainian university is somewhat illogical. However, our NMT results are recognized internationally,” he noted.
Sharov explained that many applicants choose to take the NMT abroad to enter Ukrainian educational institutions or pursue online studies, while remaining connected to Ukraine’s educational system.
