1,019 settlements in Ukraine cut from power supply due to bad weather
According to Ukrenergo, as of this morning, 1,019 settlements in 8 regions have been cut from the power grid due to gusts of wind and automation.
Oleksandr Khorunzhyy, Press Officer of the State Emergency Service, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“The most blackouts happened in the Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kirovohrad regions. Regional energy brigades were involved in the efforts to restore the electricity supply, and they are working even now,” he said.
Oleksandr Khorunzhyy added that the reasons for the blackout include the accumulation of wet snow, black ice, a sharp drop in temperature, and strong gusts of wind.
